Timing and Abstract Submission
Cases may represent work in progress or may have been
previously submitted for publication or presentation at a national
meeting in 2023. Further, submissions in this competition are
not precluded from submission for future publication or presentation.
The competition is part of a regional meeting and, clearly, will not
preclude the fellow from submitting the abstract in a future
endeavor. Please note:a maximum of two submissions will be considered per first author. If more than two are submitted, only the first two submissions will be reviewed. Submissions must be madeelectronicallyvia Oxford Abstracts by November 27. Paper and emailed copies will not be accepted.
Eligible Competitors
All adult and pediatric cardiology fellows are eligible who are enrolled
in a training program in Florida, provided they have been a fellow
sinceJuly 1, 2023.Only first authors, FITs, may present the research.
Abstract Review, Selection and Notification
Submissions will be reviewed by a Chapter panel of cardiologists. Finalists a will be notified on or after December 15, 2023.
Presentation and Prizes
Top 10 finalists will present a 5-10 minute case in front of faculty judges
These 10 finalists will receive a $100 room voucher per night at the Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay for negotiated nightly group rate of $319 plus tax and $25 destination amenity fee, per night (great amenities are included!)
Honorable mention cases and prizes may also be selected
Winner of the case presentation competition will receive $100 Amazon gift card
Additional Considerations
FITs must have significantly participated in the research endeavor (to be confirmed by the fellowship program).
