The FL QUIC program is supported by a generous grant from the Florida Heart Research Institute |
Hypertension Management Public Outreach by FCACCHypertension is a major Florida public health concern, contributing significantly to cardiovascular morbidity/mortality; Research shows that lowering blood pressure is associated with a 31% reduction in stroke and a 22% reduction in MACE. This initiative (using easy to understand culturally relevant materials) will provide patients with critical information about hypertension, the risks of AF, and the benefits of proper blood pressure management (including BP cuffs). By increasing awareness, we aim to improve treatment adherence, reduce the incidence of AF, and lower the rates of stroke and MACE. BACKGROUND
The Florida Chapter Quality committee wants to better understand the current state of quality cardiovascular care in Florida. To accomplish that, we have created the Florida Quality Improvement in Cardiology (FL-QUIC) initiative. |
